Blanc a "good candidate" for France role
French Football Federation (FFF) president Jean-Pierre Escalettes says Laurent Blanc is a strong candidate to replace Raymond Domenech as France coach after the World Cup.
Blanc suggested this week that he could turn down any job offers in the next two years as he is contracted to Bordeaux, but he admitted he would have to consider the chance to lead his country and Escalettes has confirmed he is in the federation's thoughts.
"Laurent Blanc is an exemplary man - he proved it as player and as coach," he told French radio station Europe 1. "He certainly is a good candidate."
Escalettes also cited World Cup winner Didier Deschamps, former France midfielder Jean Tigana and current assistant coach Alain Boghossian as possible replacements for Domenech, whose contract ends after this year's tournament in South Africa.
