Zola happy with form of in-demand Parker

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is unconcerned by Scott Parker finding his best form just before the January transfer window opens.

Zola needed to sell James Collins in the summer to balance the books and is hoping he can keep his biggest assets in the new year, especially Parker after the midfielder's recent performances.

Tottenham and Manchester City have been linked with Parker but Zola is not worried about his skipper attracting interest from other clubs.

''I will take the risk right now,'' the Italian said. ''He is at his best so I'm not worried about that. Also I know he is very concerned about what he is doing here. I hope he keeps playing as long as possible like this.''

Parker has three England caps, each while at different clubs, and the Hammers will be a fourth should Fabio Capello look at him as an option ahead of the World Cup in South Africa next summer.

''Certainly if he keeps playing in this way with this intensity and quality then he can certainly be an option,'' Zola said.

Matthew Upson and Carlton Cole are established in the England squad and Zola is hoping they want to stay next month.

''I believe they love this club and like what we are doing,'' he said. ''I want the players to be happy and feel realised. I hope here they can fulfil their expectation and that is what I am working on and hopefully we can achieve that.''
