Franck Queudrue ready to sign new deal

Franck Queudrue has told Birmingham City he is ready to sign a new contract at the club despite his current inability to break into Alex McLeish's first team.

Queudrue is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to speak to interested parties in January. Given that he has not made an appearance since the start of October, his position seems somewhat precarious, especially given that Birmingham are expected to spend heavily in January.

But the Frenchman is not looking to leave the club that he joined from Fulham in the summer of 2007 and has no qualms about his current squad status given that Birmingham are on a ten-game unbeaten run.

"It's going well here," Queudrue told L'Equipe. "But I would like to know very quickly if the club want to offer me something, because I am free to choose from January.

"I would really love to stay at Birmingham, my family are happy here. I started the season. I played six matches and then I did myself a little tear. Since I came back, the team have been winning and there hasn't been any reason to change things."
