Newell's Old Boys name stadium after Bielsa
Newell's Old Boys have renamed their stadium after former player and coach Marcelo Bielsa, now in charge of Chile's World Cup team.
At a ceremony in his home city of Rosario, where Bielsa steered Newell's to two league titles and the Libertadores Cup final in the 1990s, a stand was also named after former midfielder Gerardo Martino, now Paraguay coach.
Bielsa, 54, was Argentina coach for six years, winning the Olympic gold medal in Athens in 2004 after his team failed to progress from the group stage at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea when they were title favourites.
Both Bielsa and Martino proved successful in qualification for the 2010 World Cup, with Chile and Paraguay both finishing five points ahead of fourth-placed Argentina to book their place in South Africa.
