Hearts' skipper Stewart: We must build on win

Captain Michael Stewart has urged Hearts to build on their shock 2-1 win over Celtic at Tynecastle. The Jambos have struggled this season but they took full advantage after Gary Caldwell was sent off in the first half and Stewart netted the resulting penalty.

Celtic had taken the lead through Georgios Samaras and had chances to win the game even with a man disadvantage but it was Hearts' Ismael Bouzid who netted his first goal for Hearts to claim the three points.

Stewart said of the win: ''It's massive. We've had quite a few false dawns so we've got to make sure we go away to Falkirk next week and it's a great chance to get two wins on the bounce.''

Boss Csaba Laszlo, who described the win as ''a nice gift'', echoed his captain's comments and insisted the dismissal of Caldwell did not make his side's task significantly easier.

''For us, the three points is important but you must forget, take the three points and go forward,'' he told ESPN. ''I think the team spirit was the most important today and that's what I told the young guys.

''Ten, 12, 13 people, it is not important, you must beat the opponent. It's never true that with 10 players you can't play football. It can give you extra power and extra spirit.''

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray refused to blame his strikers for failing to take their chances as the Hoops remained four points behind Rangers.

''We have to take it on the chin and move on,'' he told ESPN. ''There was lots of positive play but the nature of the second goal was very disappointing. At the other end we created enough chances but today it didn't go for us.

''We looked pretty dominant but the sending-off obviously impacted on the game, but the second half we played pretty well for long spells. To be fair to the strikers, we've been scoring an average of three goals a game and if we keep creating the chances they will go in.''
