Frederic Piquionne: Liverpool game a "good opportunity"

A bullish Frederic Piquionne has described Saturday's game against Liverpool as a "good opportunity" for Portsmouth to secure an important victory.

Portsmouth produced an encouraging performance when only losing 2-1 at Chelsea in midweek with Piquionne scoring his second goal of the season in the Premier League.

The defeat at Stamford Bridge ended a brief renaissance under new manager Avram Grant that saw Portsmouth defeat Burnley 2-0 at home before drawing away at Sunderland.

And with Liverpool struggling for form this season, Piquionne is confident that Portsmouth can return to winning ways at Fratton Park on Saturday.

"If Liverpool see the Chelsea game they will be worried for when they play us," Piquionne told the Portsmouth News. "It is a good opportunity to take three points.

"Liverpool are a team who are not well at the moment, so this is a game that we can win. They are a good team and a big team. But in our stadium with our fans we can play well and win well."
