Ben Arfa intends to fight for Marseille future

Hatem Ben Arfa says he will not be forced out of Marseille and wants to show his commitment to the team on the field.

Marseille ready to sell Ben Arfa

It was thought that Ben Arfa would leave the club in January after a bust-up with coach Didier Deschamps, but he has recently enjoyed a successful run in the first-team and there had been suggestions that he may have done enough to secure a reprieve.

However, l'OM president Jean-Claude Dassier suggested this weekend that Deschamps was still unhappy with the player's work-rate and, after he was named on the bench for the game against Boulogne on Saturday, it looked like his fate was sealed.

Yet Ben Arfa received a good response from the fans after coming on as a substitute and he says he fully intends to fight to prove his worth at Stade Velodrome.

"I am not forced to do anything," he told L'Equipe. "I love Marseille. I feel good here, I love the supporters. I am 100% here. My aim is to give my maximum when I am out on the pitch."
