FC Twente triumph to stay on top

Leaders FC Twente came from a goal behind to maintain their unbeaten start to the Eredivisie with a 3-1 win over NAC Breda.

Edwin De Graaf gave the visitors a half-time lead at the Arke Stadion, but Twente stepped up their efforts in the second half with a brace from Miroslav Stoch and a further strike from Bryan Ruiz earning Steve McClaren's men a convincing win.

Substitute Ola Toivonen was the match-winner as second-placed PSV Eindhoven grabbed a dramatic 86th-minute goal to beat AZ Alkmaar 1-0.

Toivonen headed home Erik Pieters' cross four minutes from time to give the hosts a victory they just about earned on the balance of play.

Mounir El Hamdaoui saw red for the visitors after receiving two yellow cards, while victory means second-placed PSV's unbeaten run in the league now stretches to 17 games this term.

Second-half goals from Kevin Hofland and Jon Dahl Tomasson earned Feyenoord a 2-0 victory over struggling Heerenveen.

The pair scored in the final 22 minutes as the Rotterdammers strengthened their grip on fourth place and kept their opponents just three points clear of the bottom three.

VVV Venlo piled the misery on rock-bottom RKC Waalwijk with a 3-0 thrashing at De Koel stadium.

Two goals in the space of six first-half minutes from Adil Aussar and Michael Timisella all but killed off any kind of RKC challenge with only a quarter of the game gone.

Kens Leeman then wrapped up the points 11 minutes from time.
