Ajax's prolific striker Luis Suarez has reassured the Dutch club that he has not agreed a transfer to Chelsea, despite reports to the contrary in recent weeks.
It has been suggested that Suarez, who has scored an impressive 17 goals in 16 Eredivisie appearances this season, has already agreed to join Chelsea in the summer of 2010, should their appeal against a FIFA transfer ban be successful.
But Ajax have sought clarification from the player himself and Suarez insists he has not come to any agreement with Chelsea, according to managing director Rik van den Boog.
"I have asked Luis directly and he does not know anything," Van den Boog told Voetbal International.
Suarez, 22, is one of Europe's most promising strikers and has reportedly attracted interest from a wide range of clubs thanks to his performances with Ajax, where he has scored 56 goals in 80 Eredivisie games.
The former Groningen and Nacional striker also scored five goals as Uruguay qualified for the World Cup finals by coming through a play-off against Costa Rica.
