Beavers' postseason run ends with loss to Notre Dame
The Oregon State women's soccer team fell to No. 2 seeded Notre Dame, 1-0, in the third round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship in front of an estimated crowd of 1,500 at Alumni Stadium on Friday.
The loss ends Oregon State's season as the Beavers reached the round of 16 for the first time in school history and finished with a final overall record of 14-8-1, eight more wins than they had a year ago.
"Both teams competed very hard with a fair amount of chances both ways," Oregon State women's soccer head coach Linus Rhode said in a press release. "We were definitely stronger in the first half and they come back in the second half and applied more pressure on us and they put one away."
The lone goal of the game happened in the 61st minute of the match when Notre Dame's Rose Augustin converted a cross from Melissa Henderson.
