Peter Kenyon goes to Hollywood

Former Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has joined Hollywood talent group Creative Artists Agency, it was confirmed on Monday afternoon.

Kenyon, who was chief executive of Manchester United before joining Chelsea, left Stamford Bridge at the end of October following five years working under Roman Abramovich and will now join the talent agency's sports division.

CAA Sports already represent the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Jose Mourinho, as well as a host of sports stars from other disciplines.

"After 14 years running the two most successful clubs, I decided that I wanted to move on," Kenyon told the Financial Times. "CAA has clearly demonstrated that it is the best in the industry."

However, Kenyon will continue to represent Chelsea in his capacity as a non-executive director.

"I've been an integral part, along with the owner, of building Chelsea into what it is today," Kenyon said. "So the last thing I was going to do was leave the club in a position where it couldn't move forward."

Kenyon has been replaced by Ron Gourlay at Stamford Bridge, who wasted no time in claiming that the club are aiming to win the Champions League twice in the next five years and may sell its stadium naming rights to help fund the attempt.
