Lyon draw 5-5 with Marseille after Bordeaux lose

Jeremy Toulalan scored an own goal in stoppage time to hand Olympique Marseille a 5-5 draw at Olympique Lyon in a spectacular Ligue 1 game on Sunday.

• Saturday's French Ligue 1 review

At second-placed Lyon's Gerland stadium, the hosts got the better start but were 4-2 down in the second half before a Lisandro Lopez double put them level.

Lyon looked set for victory after Brazilian Michel Bastos netted with one minute remaining, only for Toulalan to score his own goal three minutes into stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Ligue 1 leaders Girondins Bordeaux failed to show their Champions League form in a 2-0 defeat at Lille.

Five days after qualifying for the Champions League last 16 with a 2-0 win at Bayern Munich, Laurent Blanc's side ran out of energy at Lille's Stadium Nord.

They were on the back foot against a bold Lille side and cracked under pressure with 20 minutes remaining when midfielder Yohan Cabaye fired home after keeper Cedric Carasso had parried a Pierre-Alain Frau attempt.

Midfielder Florent Balmont doubled the tally three minutes from time from the penalty spot after Larsen Toure was brought down in the box by Michael Ciani.

"We were not good. We made defensive mistakes and it cost us two goals," Bordeaux defender Marc Planus told French TV.

"Tonight, we should have been content with a draw, but we always want to go forward and take all three points. Tonight, we were just not good enough for that.

"We were not good physically but Lille were not better as they played in the Europa League on Thursday. We failed mentally."

Elsewhere, French internationals Moussa Sissoko and Andre-Pierre Gignac scored for Toulouse in a 3-2 home win against Stade Rennes.

Toulouse went ahead shortly after the half hour when France midfielder Sissoko poked the ball home after Rennes keeper Nicolas Douchez had denied Paulo Machado.

Rennes struck back on the stroke of halftime with Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan firing past Olivier Blondel after being set up by a Bruno Cheryou defence-splitting pass.

Norway's Daniel Braaten was then set up by Sissoko and put the hosts back in front in the 59th minute.

Striker Gignac made it three four minutes later with a fine volley as Kader Mangane reduced the scoring with four minutes left.
