Lyon humiliated in Nice defeat

French champions Girondins Bordeaux moved top of Ligue 1 with a 3-0 home win over Le Mans and former leaders Lyon were crushed 4-1 at struggling Nice on Saturday.

Bordeaux kept the pressure on their Ligue 1 title rivals as they beat visitors Le Mans 3-0 at Chaban-Delmas.

Laurent Blanc's side went ahead early on through a Didier Ovono own goal before second half goals from Marouane Chamakh and David Bellion completed the victory.

Lyon were brought back down to earth in the most emphatic of fashions following their midweek Champions League win over Liverpool, with hosts Nice winning 4-1 at the Municipal du Ray.

Claude Puel's side were thoroughly outplayed as they went four down before a late Ederson consolation. By then, goals from Mamadou Bagayoko, David Hellebuyck and Loic Remy as well as an Aly Cissokho own-goal had decided the result.

Two goals in the last four minutes by Nene saw Monaco win 3-1 against a Boulogne side who played for 55 minutes with just ten men.

Monaco went ahead ten minutes before half-time through Chu Young Park and their task was simplified as Kevin Das Neves was sent off for Boulogne after a two-footed tackle on Alejandro Alonso. Nene put Monaco ahead with a free-kick after 85 minutes and the same player wrapped up victory with an almost replica strike in injury time.

An own goal and a last-gasp penalty sentenced luckless Grenoble to their 10th consecutive league defeat as Nancy came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory.

Danijel Ljuboja put the home side ahead but David Jemmali put through his own net 16 minutes from time before Youssouf Hadji won it for Nancy in the 88th minute.

An early goal from Damien Perquis allowed Sochaux to move within two points of opponents Lorient in the standings.

Johan Audel and David Ducourtioux scored the goals as Valenciennes continued their fine league form with victory over St Etienne.

Montpellier missed the chance to go top of Ligue 1 as Stade Rennes recorded a convincing win.

Sylvain Marveaux put the hosts ahead in the 34th minute before Moussa Sow doubled the lead five minutes after the restart. Asamoah Gyan sealed the win for Rennes in injury time as Montpellier suffered only their second defeat of the season.
