Red Bulls midfielder Albert Celades to retire to Saturday

SECAUCUS, N.J. -- Spanish midfielder Albert Celades is retiring from soccer.

The 34-year-old says his Saturday game with the New York Red Bulls will be his last.

Celades made his professional debut for FC Barcelona in 1995 and helped the team win two Spanish titles as well as the 1998 UEFA Super Cup Championship. He also played for Real Madrid for four seasons.

Before coming to New York, Celades played for Real Zaragoza, and was instrumental in the club's 2005 Spanish Super Cup finals appearance. Celades also played for French club, FC Girondins de Bordeaux, in the 2003-04 season.

He played in 16 games with the Red Bulls. His three assists are second-best on the team.

The Red Bulls play Toronto FC at Giants Stadium.
