Premier Showdown - Oct 17-19

This surely cannot go on much longer. We're half-way through October and the Rest of the World still have not picked up a single point!

Dale Johnson and Tommy Smyth are battling it out at the top of the table, looking down upon our challengers with a laugh and a giggle. But there's such a long way to go, with a bit of look the ROTW can certainly get back into it.

Looking to rip up the form book this weekend is Emmanuel Pacoto as we make a trip to Africa. Emmanuel tells ESPN Soccernet: "I am Emmanuel From Uganda and am an ardent supporter of Arsenal though I like to look at several views of other football loving people. I and my friends usually sit around what we call the round table soccer analysis zone and discuss games to come and those that have been played. "We put ourselves in the shoes of the manager and say out what we think we could have done differently if put in the same situation. After we have a nice drinking evening and go home. We keep doing this even in the week through emails and phones. All I can say is we just love the game." It paints a glorious picture. Let's see if Emmanuel knows his stuff.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.

Emmanuel finally gets the ROTW off the mark with a draw! But it looks like it could have been much better, as Emmanuel had clocked up his eight points after just five matches.... and then drew a blank.
