Walcott ruled out of action for a month
Arsenal could be without Theo Walcott for a month after suffering knee ligament damage against Birmingham City at the weekend.
The England international was caught by a hard, but fair challenge by Liam Ridgewell. However, there was controversy as Blues fans sung ''there's only one Martin Taylor'' in reference to the tackle which injured Eduardo 18 months ago.
Walcott's season has been stop-start after picking up an injury in pre-season, a situation which was blamed on his participation in the European Under-21 Championships.
He made his first appearance of the season only two weeks ago in the 6-2 drubbing of Blackburn Rovers, coming off the bench to score. And he lasted just 32 minutes of the game against Birmingham, meaning he has managed just 100 minutes of football for the Gunners all season.
There was further bad news of the Gunners as Tomas Rosicky will also miss Tuesday night's Champions League meeting with AZ Alkmaar, while Nicklas Bendtner, Denilson, Eduardo, Lukasz Fabianski and Johan Djourou are still out.
However, Gael Clichy is fit to return to the squad.
