Brazilian striker Adriano has claimed he would only play for former club Inter Milan if he ever returned to Serie A.
Reports in the Italian media suggest AC Milan are monitoring the progress of Adriano, who netted 48 goals in 123 games for Inter, with a view to bringing the 27-year-old over from Flamengo in the January transfer window.
But the striker told Italian television programme Studio Sport: "If I were to ever leave Brazil, my only choice would be to play at Inter in Italy.''
Adriano terminated his contract with Inter in April following a troubled time at the club, but during a difficult final year in Italy, the Nerazzuri stood by the player and granted him his wish to return home.
Adriano has rediscovered his goalscoring touch at Flamengo, netting 15 times in 22 league appearances this season and is under contract with the club until May 2010.
