Valencia striker David Villa is recovering from a torn thigh muscle and could be fit for Saturday's home match against Barcelona.
The Spanish striker, who has netted six goals in six games so far this season in La Liga, suffered a hamstring injury in his side's 1-0 win over Racing Santander but could be fit to face champions Barcelona at the Mestalla, according to the club's official website.
While Villa could return, there is less positive news for Los Che, with defender Carlos Marchena expected to be out for three to four weeks after tearing a muscle while on duty with Spain at the weekend.
Winger Joaquin is also expected to be out with a muscle injury that will sideline him for around three weeks. Valencia currently lie fifth in La Liga on 11 points, seven behind leaders Barcelona after six matches.
