Ligue 1: Bordeaux continue great start

Bordeaux put themselves out in front at the top of the Ligue 1 table with a 2-0 victory at Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Bordeaux controlled the game for long stretches and could have scored many more than the two goals, which came in either half from Yoan Gouffran (34) and an own goal from Yoann Lachor (68).

Lyon can close that gap with victory at Paris St Germain, but they were in third this evening after Marseille went second with a 4-2 win over Montpellier.

It was more comfortable than the result suggested for Marseille who were 3-0 up at half-time through Lucho Gonzalez (31), Mamadou Niang (34) and Edouard Cisse (39), before extending their lead via Souleymane Diawara's 51st-minute effort.

Montpellier bagged a couple of late face-savers, Younes Belhanda (75) and Souleymane Camara's 87th-minute penalty reducing the arrears.

Crowd trouble twice saw Rennes' 4-0 win at Grenoble interrupted, with both sets of players leaving the field in the second half. Missiles were launched onto the pitch and flares set off to mar a match which the visiting side won at a canter to go fourth.

Asamoah Gyan scored twice, the first after only 27 seconds, with Kader Mangane and Sylvain Marveaux also on target, but, while Grenoble remained pointless, the post-match focus is sure to be on the disturbances in the stands.

Nice coach Didier Olle-Nicolle will be feeling the pressure even more after seeing his side slip to their fourth defeat on the trot in the derby against Monaco.

A penalty from Nene and Alejandro Alonso's strike meant the visitors were 2-0 up with less than 12 minutes on the clock. Loic Remy pulled one back for Nice three minutes from the break but Alonso gave his side a 3-1 win in the 72nd minute.

A dominant performance saw Lorient beat Nancy 3-1 and leapfrog their opponents. Sinamary Diarra, who was at the heart of much of Lorient's attacking play, opened the scoring two minutes before the break and Kevin Gameiro made it 2-0 on the hour mark.

Paul Alo'o pulled one back in stoppage time for Nancy but there was still time for Lorient to add a third through Olivier Monterrubio's penalty.

Valenciennes twice came from behind to win 5-2 at Sochaux, who went to half-time 2-1 up thanks to goals from Jeremie Brechet after three minutes and Ryad Boudebouz (40) sandwiching Sanchez Moreno's effort.

But Gregory Pujol levelled four minutes after the restart and Valenciennes ran away with it from there with goals from Johan Audel (63), Fahid Ben Khalfallah (78) and Pujol (85). Sochaux had Vaclav Sverkos sent off after 82 minutes.

The other game was a 1-1 draw between St Etienne and Auxerre, with goals from Gonzalo Bergessio (14) for the hosts and Kevin Lejeune (75) for the visitors.
