Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has welcomed Luis Fabiano's commitment to the club, but has stated that there will no contract extension talks with the striker.
During the summer the Brazilian was the subject of interest from several clubs, while AC Milan came close to signing him after negotiations reportedly took place in August.
After that move broke down over the fee, Fabiano's future was discussed and a new deal was expected to be put forward by Sevilla, but the club's president has said that will have to wait.
"I have seen the quotes from the player in the papers, stating that he is committed to the club," he was quoted as saying by Marca. "Now it is his objective to score as many goals as possible before we re-evaluate the situation.
"The season is very long and we have plenty of time to discuss this topic. I assure you that there are no plans to talk about a contract extension right now."
