Hull boss Brown looking forward to Bullard return

Hull boss Phil Brown has revealed record signing Jimmy Bullard is now so close to fitness it is ''almost mouth-watering''.

The £5 million midfielder has not played since suffering a serious knee injury on his debut for club against West Ham in January.

The 30-year-old required major surgery but set his sights on October for a potential return and is making good progress.

Brown told the club's website: ''He is so close it is almost mouth-watering, the prospect of being able to pick him.

''But we have got to make sure the next week or two are spot on because, hopefully, when Jimmy is ready the cruciate will be behind him.''
