Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has finally been given the all clear to return to action after spending the entire summer on the sidelines with a thigh muscle injury.
The Spain international, who helped the national team to win Euro 2008, has not played since the Blaugrana's Champions League final win over Manchester United in Rome on May 27.
Iniesta suffered a small tear in his thigh prior to May's European final but played through the pain. However, the 25-year-old aggravated the injury and then his recovery was complicated by a viral infection.
Barcelona medics put the midfielder through a series of tests on Wednesday morning before declaring him fit. Iniesta will now go into manager Pep Guardiola's squad for the game against Getafe at the weekend but is unlikely to start for the La Liga champions.
