SPL transfers: Ins and outs

The transfer window has slammed shut for another year. But it was more of a mild finale than a mad stampede on the final day of dealings in the SPL. Below, we take a look at all the arrivals and departures during the summer transfer market north of the border.

ABERDEEN

Outs: Scott Severin, midfielder (Watford); Jamie Smith, midfielder; Lee Mair defender (St Mirren); Jon Bateman, goalkeeper (Peterhead, loan); Bertrand Bossu, goalkeeper.

Verdict: Mark McGhee has faced a frustrating summer on the transfer front but will be pleased he at least managed to bolster his defensive options.

CELTIC
Ins: Lukasz Zaluska, goalkeeper (Dundee Utd); Marc-Antoine Fortune, forward (Nancy, £3.8m); Landry N'Guemo, midfielder (Nancy, loan); Daniel Fox, defender (Coventry City, undisclosed); Josh Thompson, defender (Stockport County, undisclosed), Zheng Zhi, defender (subject to work permit);

Outs: Shunsuke Nakamura, midfielder (Espanyol); Bobo Balde, defender; Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, forward; Paul Hartley, midfielder (Bristol City); Scott Cuthbert, defender (Swindon Town, £100,000); Cillian Sheridan, forward (Plymouth Argyle); Kevin Cawley, forward (Ayr United); Ryan Strachan, defender (Peterhead); Ryan Marshall, goalkeeper (Stranraer); Cillian Sheridan, forward (Plymouth, loan); Massimo Donati, midfielder (Bari); Darren O'Dea, defender (Reading, loan), Mark Brown, goalkeeper (Kilmarnock, loan).

Verdict: At just under £4million all eyes are on Marc-Antoine Fortune to see if he can bag the goals to bring the SPL title back to Parkhead.

Outs: Lukasz Zaluska, goalkeeper (Celtic); Sean Fleming, midfielder (Montrose); Gordon Pope, defender (Montrose); Fraser Milligan, defender (Montrose); Michael McGovern, goalkeeper (Ross County); Danny Grainger, defender (St Johnstone, undisclosed).

Verdict: Craig Levein looks to have pulled off another masterstroke in the transfer market following Danny Cadamarteri's early season form.
