Ukrainian defender Dymytro Chygrynskiy has completed his move from Shakhtar Donetsk to Barcelona.
The 22-year-old centre back, the first Ukrainian player in the Catalan club's history, has completed a medical and signed his contract, the European and Spanish champions said on their website.
Spanish media have reported the deal is worth €25m and Chygrynskiy is the club's third signing of the summer after Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and defender Maxwell joined from Inter Milan.
Barca begin the defence of their Spanish league title later on Monday at home to Sporting Gijon (2000 GMT). The match was put back because of Friday's European Super Cup, in which Barca beat a Shakhtar side including Chygrynskiy 1-0.
