Premier Showdown - Aug 22-24

It was a tight affair in midweek but Dale Johnson got off the mark with a victory, which means only the Rest of the World are left to score.

Joining us for the weekend round of games is Femi Owotomo.

Femi tells us: "I'm a 27-year-old Administrator from the UK currently working in Nigeria.

"I support Liverpool FC, but I'm football mad. The new season has started and I wish the pundits would refrain from predicting what they can't possibly know. If we knew we would not be watching would we? Let the season roll on let's catch some great games and after the end of the seaon we will know for sure."

Femi, without speculation and debate football would be a much duller game... let's play.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.
