HOUSTON -- Brian Ching scored in the 68th minute, lifting the Houston Dynamo to a 1-0 victory over El Salvador's Isidro Metapan at Robertson on Wednesday night in the teams' first game of CONCACAF Champions League Group A play.

Ching, a second-half substitute, scored seven minutes after entering the game. Fellow second-half sub Stuart Holden sent a through ball into the area to Ching, who fired a shot past goalkeeper Alvaro Alfaro.

Houston held Metapan to no shots on goal and three total shots overall. The Dynamo had five shots on goal and eight total.
