Premier Showdown - Aug 15-16

Welcome back! Yes, it's the start of a brand new season of predications fun and our usual experts are back for another season. We've got Dale Johnson in London and Tommy Smyth over in New York. Tommy, part of our US broadcasting team, is eager to prove those on the other side of the pond know what they are talking about! Our very first challenger for 2009-10 is David Zheng, who hails from China. Perhaps our very first Rest of the World competitor from this country! David tells Soccernet: "I'm from Shenyang in China, 28 years old and I'm a marketing manager. I have been watching Premier League for some years. "My favourite team is Liverpool. The best match I've seen is Liverpool v AC Milan in the Champions League. I hope Liverpool can win the title at last this season." Dale is the current Premier Showdown champion, but will he get off to the perfect start? Let's find out!

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.
