PSV Eindhoven see off Ajax in 4-3 thriller

Martin Jol's Ajax suffered their first defeat of the season after going down 4-3 in a thriller at title rivals PSV Eindhoven.

New PSV boss Fred Rutten had seen his side held to back-to-back draws to start their campaign and a first-half double from Ajax striker Luis Suarez had the hosts trailing 2-1 at half-time.

But a brace of goals apiece from Balazs Dzsudzsak, who added to his first-half goal with another after the interval, and Otman Bakkal, who netted the decisive strike in the 75th minute after Urby Emanuelson had made it 3-3, ensured a first win of the campaign for PSV.

Feyenoord maintained their fine start with a 1-0 win at Heracles which sees them move into a four-way tie at the summit.

Jon Dahl Tomasson struck the winner for the Rotterdammers with 10 minutes to go.

NAC Breda are another of the quartet who have set the early pace, along with FC Twente and FC Utrecht, and they enjoyed a fine 2-1 win at FC Groningen this afternoon.

Edwin De Graaf and Kees Kwakman scored for the visitors with Koen van de Laak grabbing Groningen's consolation.

FC Twente won yesterday - 1-0 at ADO Den Haag - while Utrecht were held to a 2-2 draw at home to VVV-Venlo this afternoon.

Sandro Calabro and Keisuke Honda scored for VVV either side of a Dries Mertens double.

Mads Junker scored the only goal as Roda JC edged out NEC Nijmegen 1-0.
