Hearts name Stewart as captain, Bouzid worry

Michael Stewart has been handed the Hearts captain's armband - but boss Csaba Laszlo insisted the responsibility will be shared with defender Marius Zaliukas.

The boss is keen for the pair to work together to lead his side in domestic and European competition and wants Zaliukas - the official vice captain - to take on more responsibility.

Meanwhile, Ismael Bouzid has been added to the growing list of possible absentees for the SPL opener against Dundee United on Monday, but Laszlo insists injuries are the least of his worries.

The defender joins Larry Kingston, Andrew Driver and Calum Elliot among those currently nursing problems, after suffering a bizarre shoulder joint problem, but Lazlo is more concerned by the three matches scheduled in the space of less than a week against United, Dinamo Zagreb and then Rangers.

He told the Scotsman: "At the moment, I don't think about any injury problems. The important thing for us is to have a good start to the season. If you get off to a good start then you can build on it.

"The first few matches of the season are not easy ones for us. We play Dundee United in the first game, then we have to travel to Croatia a couple of days later and when we come back we have a game against Rangers.

"This is biggest problem for us at the moment for our preparations because the time is very short. But we will try to handle the situation as well as we can."
