Huntelaar jets in to complete Milan move

Klaas Jan Huntelaar is on the verge of joining AC Milan after they agreed a fee for the striker with Real Madrid.

The Dutch forward is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu after Madrid's huge summer spending spree landed them Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema.

The 25-year-old is expected to arrive in Italy on Thursday night to undergo a medical and thrash out personal terms.

A statement on Milan's official website read: "AC Milan communicate they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the purchase of striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

"The Dutch footballer will be subjected to the medical checks tomorrow, after which he will sign a contract which will keep him at the Rossoneri club until 30 June 2013."

Milan general manager Adriano Galliani earlier confirmed the deal was almost done."With Real Madrid there is already an agreement on everything," he told Sky Sport 24.

"It is not true that there is still no fax from Madrid, the agreement has been finalised. Huntelaar will arrive in Milan on Thursday evening, then we will perform his medical and he will sign the contract."

Tottenham were interested in bringing the 25-year-old to the Premier League but Milan look to have ended their very public summer search for a striker.

Seville striker Luis Fabiano had been on their hit list but the two clubs failed to agree a fee.
