Milan's Berlusconi scotches Pirlo-to-Chelsea link

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi insists Andrea Pirlo is not on the verge of signing for Chelsea.

The Italy midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea ever since the arrival of former Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti to the London club.

Media have reported that Ancelotti has offered eight million euros ($11.3m) plus striker Claudio Pizarro.

"At this price Pirlo is not for sale," AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani told Italy's Sky television before adding that Milan were renewing their interest in Real Madrid forward Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

However, Berlusconi insists neither story has any basis to it.

''They are all stories, there's no truth at all,'' he told reporters. ''I don't know anything, I haven't talked to Galliani: I also learnt this from journalists and I was surprised.''
