The Young Matildas kicked off their European soccer tour with an emphatic 4-1 victory over their Finland counterparts in Varese, Italy.
In hot conditions, the Australian Under 19 team got off to a good start when captain Tameka Butt played in Marianna Tabain who scored with a shot from the left flank in the fourth minute.
Butt doubled her team's lead in the seventh minute with a long range shot which found the top left corner of the goal.
Jessica Seaman scored the Young Matildas' third goal in the 78th minute after being played in at the edge of the box by Karina Roweth.
Finland pegged a goal back immediately after the restart.
But substitute Nicola Bolger completed the scoring for Australia in the 80th minute after receiving a pass from Samantha Kerr.
The Young Matildas will face Finland again on Monday and then play Germany U-19 (May 27) and Inter Milan women (May 30) at Varese and then Thailand U-19 (June 6) on the way back to Australia.
