Mourinho targets further glory with Inter Milan

Jose Mourinho has promised Inter Milan fans that more titles are on the way after he led the Nerazzurri to a fourth successive scudetto.

Inter lifted the trophy after city rivals AC Milan lost 2-1 at Udinese.

Their triumph, in Mourinho's first season, is the club's 17th championship overall and the Portuguese coach could not hide his delight.

"I am proud to have won in my first year in Italy," said Mourinho. "It wasn't easy. In fact, we coaches always say that time is needed. But this is a big satisfaction.

"In Inter's history, I know that other coaches have done better than me. I know football, I know that without results, the passion is lost.

"Hence, I need to continue to get results like this in order to remain in the hearts of the fans."

It is Mourinho's fifth title in seven years in three different countries having claimed two Portuguese crowns with Porto and two with Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League.

"This title marks the fifth title in three different countries," said Mourinho.

"(Giovanni) Trapattoni has achieved that in four different nations, but to be champion in two of three (Premier League, Serie A, Primera Liga) of the most important leagues in Europe was only something that Fabio Capello has managed to do.

"At least I still have 20 years left of work."

Inter, who play against Siena this afternoon, are seven points clear of AC Milan who have two games left to play.

They romped to the scudetto having collected 23 wins in 35 games while only losing three times.

"In a tournament, the best team wins," said Mourinho. "I've always said so when I have won and when I haven't."
