Moratti hails Mourinho as Inter claim title

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has dedicated his side's latest Serie A success to coach Jose Mourinho after they were confirmed as champions.

A 2-1 defeat for city rivals AC Milan at Udinese handed the title to Inter without them having to kick a ball.

It was the fourth Scudetto in a row for the Nerazzuri and Moratti, who is also celebrating his 64th birthday today, revealed a lot of hard work had gone into ensuring another triumphant campaign for Inter.

"We have won the title with great merit. From a certain point of view it was never really in dispute," Moratti told Inter's website. "The moment I remember most? I'd like to say Udinese-Milan... Jokes aside, it has been very nice to experience this extraordinary happiness together with the team.

"You win with many sacrifices, not just through hard work and quality, and these boys have made many sacrifices for many months.

"Mourinho had already won in England and now he has done well here with us, the only foreign coach in Italy. He did well to gain experience first and then lead the team to victory.

"I'm dedicating this to the fans, who are always special, and to Mourinho."

Inter, who hold an unassailable seven-point advantage over Milan, are set to celebrate their title success in front of their home fans when they take on Siena.
