Brazilian side Gremio defeated Universidad San Martin of Peru 2-0 at home to complete a 5-1 aggregate win and set up a Copa Libertadores quarter-final clash with Venezuelans Caracas.
Midfielder Jonas put the hosts ahead in the 17th minute when he headed home Tcheco's cross before substitute German Herrera doubled the advantage with a powerful shot from the edge of the area in the second half.
The victory marked the end of Marcelo Rospide's time as Gremio's interim coach with the club's director of football Andre Krieger confirming the arrival of Paulo Autori.
"Yes, three days ago we reached an agreement with him. Now, I can state that Autori is our new coach," Krieger said.
Autori, who recently coached Qatar's Al Rayyan, will arrive at Porto Alegre next Monday.
