Adriaanse considers Ajax offer

Salzburg coach Co Adriaanse has asked for time to consider his future after learning he is wanted by Dutch Eredivisie club Ajax.

The Amsterdammers have indicated they are interested in Adriaanse, 61, replacing Marco van Basten, who resigned a week ago.

Ajax director Rik van den Boog told AD Sportwereld: "Co Adriaanse got a call from us and he told us clearly that he wants to fully focus on finishing the season with Salzburg.

"His season runs for another few weeks. After that he wants time to reflect on what he wants to do with his life. We respect that."

Other candidates reportedly on Ajax's radar are Danny Blind, Ron Jans, Morten Olsen and Michael Laudrup.
