CARSON, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Galaxy will return to the Rose Bowl for an exhibition game against Barcelona.
The Galaxy said Friday the game in Pasadena will be played Aug. 1. Barcelona's roster features Lionel Messi, Rafa Marquez and Thierry Henry. The Spanish power faces Manchester United for the Champions League title May 27.
The Galaxy will be playing in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 2002 because the Home Depot Center will be hosting the X Games. In the seven years the Galaxy played in Pasadena, the team had a home record of 72-27-8.
Barcelona also will play at the Seattle Sounders on Aug. 5. A third match to conclude its U.S. tour is being planned.
