No contact from PSG, says highly-rated Kombouare

Antoine Kombouare insists he has not been contacted by Paris St Germain about the possibility of replacing Paul Le Guen as coach of the capital club.

The Valenciennes coach is the leading candidate to take over from Le Guen, who will leave PSG at the end of the season after the club announced his contract will not be renewed when it expires in June.

Kombouare is flattered to be linked with the PSG post, as well as coaching roles at Monaco and Rennes, but he maintains his priority is keeping Valenciennes in Ligue 1 with four matches left this season.

"I would be lying if I said it had left me indifferent - it is flattering," he told RMC.

"What interests me for the moment is staying focused on my work. We aren't yet safe. I get the feeling that today people talk about situations with coaches and players, forgetting there is a championship to finish.

"I haven't had any direct contact (with any club). There are just indirect contacts, people telling me that I am on a shortlist. That is the case with Rennes, PSG and Monaco.

"Regarding PSG, each time the club have problems, people have always thought of me. But I am not going to spend my time commenting on what people are saying."

Kombouare is a former PSG player who coached their reserve team from 1999 to 2003.

He was linked with PSG last season when Le Guen's job was perceived to be under threat because of the club's poor league campaign.

Meanwhile, Mateja Kezman wants to stay at PSG whoever the new coach is.

The Serbia striker was loaned to PSG from Fenerbahce at the start of the season, with the option of a permanent transfer this summer, but has hardly been used by Le Guen.

"My future is in Paris," he said. "Now there is going to be a new coach here, it's going to change things for me."
