Mourinho: Ibrahimovic right to sshh Inter fans

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was within his rights to angrily gesture at his own fans in Inter Milan's 2-0 win over Lazio on Saturday, coach Jose Mourinho said.

The Sweden striker, who is considering his future at the club after they again flopped in the Champions League, hit one goal and set up Sulley Muntari for the other to put runaway leaders Inter on the brink of a fourth successive scudetto.

Shortly before scoring he was heckled by some fans for losing possession and after slamming in a trademark strike, he put his finger to his lips to tell the San Siro to be quiet.

"It's a logical reaction for a player who has done so much for Inter. He is a player who at the moment is hugely dedicated to the team," Mourinho told Sky television.

"There are moments of frustration for us in a game, the fans want more, we want more. But whistling one of their own players is not right."

Ibrahimovic has been Inter's saviour so often this season and is joint top scorer in Serie A with 21 goals, his biggest haul during his time in Italy with Juventus and Inter.

The 27-year-old, who eluded the television interviewers after the game, has been linked in the media with Real Madrid.

He was booked and will be suspended for Inter's match at Chievo next Sunday when Mourinho's side could seal the title if other results go their way.

"The players are physically and mentally tired. It seems like the scudetto will never come but it will," Mourinho said.
