Adebayor: Milan interest like Beyonce crush

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has compared interest from AC Milan this summer to being told that former Destiny's Child's singer Beyonce Knowles is interested in him.

The Serie A giants were strongly linked with a £30m bid for the striker over the summer but Adebayor chose to sign a new contract at the Emirates and has been in fine form recently, scoring a wonder goal to help their progression in Europe over Villarreal.

The Togo international paid tribute to the Italian giants, but also re-affirmed his commitment to the Gunners cause as they prepare to face Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

"I am happy playing for this club and to be honest I am happy AC Milan, one of the legendary clubs in the world, were looking at me," he told ESPNsoccernet Press Pass's Alison Bender.

"For me that must be something special. It is like a boy being told Beyonce is looking for them.

"They told me Milan were looking for me. I am quite happy with that but the most important thing is playing for Arsenal. I am very happy here so there is no reason for me moving.''
