Adriano's agent Gilmar Rinaldi has denied reports his client is on the verge of signing with Flamengo despite the club's president confirming his interest.
Adriano's appearance at Flamengo's 2-2 draw with Botafogo in the state championships only heightened speculation he 27-year-old - released by Inter Milan on Friday after personal problems - was about to sign for the club with which he made his debut in 2000.
However, Rinaldi insisted people were jumping to conclusions.
"Adriano only asked me to get him some tickets to watch the match with friends," he told GloboEsporte. "He was there as a supporter, not to talk to anyone.
"Adriano has not been approached and this is best, as he is now calm and relaxed like he wants to be."
