Pep ready for Barca's ''most important week''

Coach Pep Guardiola looked ahead to Barcelona's ''most important week of the season'' after seeing his side salvage a potentially vital point against Valencia.

Barca looked set to suffer their first defeat since the start of March after trailing 2-1 at the Mestalla with only four minutes remaining, but secured a late draw thanks to substitute Thierry Henry.

That result saw Barca extend their lead over Real Madrid to seven points ahead of the reigning champions' testing trip to third-placed Sevilla today, and Guardiola felt it was important to take something out of the game.

''A point is a point and there are now less matches remaining,'' said Guardiola.

''Valencia had won five successive matches in the league, and were very well prepared. It's a good point and we will see how things are at the end of the weekend.

''We've continued fighting throughout, and at the end we got our reward. This makes me feel hopeful for the future.''

And that immediate future features two matches that could prove make or break to Barca's hopes of winning an historic trophy treble.

First up is Tuesday's Champions semi-final first leg against Chelsea at the Nou Camp, then next weekend they must go to Real Madrid in a clash between the top two in La Liga.

''Now we have to start thinking about Chelsea. We have to rest and recover well, because now comes the most important week of the season. First it's Chelsea and then after we go to the Bernabeu,'' said Guardiola, who insists his team are in rude health despite still fighting for honours on three fronts.

''The players don't seem tired to me. We are like a machine.''
