Atletico Mineiro and Nautico claim Copa places

Atletico Mineiro and Nautico claimed the final two places in the last 16 of the Copa do Brasil after overcoming Guaratingueta and Criciuma respectively.

Having salvaged a 2-2 draw in the first-leg, the 'Galo' comfortably won 2-0 at Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte.

Striker Diego Tardelli opened the scoring only four minutes into the game with a precise shot from the spot.

Junior made sure of the result with a brilliant individual finish shortly before the final whistle.

Emerson Leao`s side will now face Vitoria, who defeated Juventude last week.

Nautico also advanced after beating Criciuma 3-2 in Recife to complete a 5-4 aggregate win.

Forward Kempes opened the scoring for Criciuma but Derley equalised before the break.

Kempes put the visitors in front for a second time from the spot but Gilmar levelled. However, despite playing with one man less due Moreira's red card, Nautico clinched a meeting with Internacional Porto Alegre thanks to Juliano`s 87th-minute strike.

The champions of the Copa do Brasil will earn a spot in the 2010 Copa Libertadores.
