FA vow to crack down on cup final ticket touts

The Football Association have launched a new 'Out the Touts' campaign cracking down on ticket touts in the build-up to the FA Cup final on May 30.

The reselling of football tickets is banned in England and the FA are calling on fans who have obtained tickets for the match between Chelsea and Everton at Wembley by this method to send them in so the FA can trace their origins.

Supporters do not need to send in tickets until after the match and the FA have confirmed no action will be taken against any fan who does so.

The FA, who will also be boosting their anti-touting operation around the stadium on May 30, said in a statement: ''The FA does not condone fans purchasing tickets from unofficial sources.

''Any fan buying a ticket from a tout or found with an unofficial or 'resold' ticket at Wembley Stadium can still be ejected from the ground and banned from future games.

''It is illegal to sell football tickets above face value and the FA is determined to rid football of touts to help ensure that real fans are not paying inflated prices for tickets.

''The FA is working hard to stamp out touting and monitors the internet closely for the illegal trading of tickets.

''At the meeting of the FA Cup final clubs today, both Chelsea and Everton supported the FA's scheme and will co-operate in addition to their own anti-touting operations.''

The FA have also today confirmed ticket prices, club allocations and team colours for the final.

The four ticket prices for Chelsea v Everton will be £34.40, £58.65, £78.30 and £93, the same pricing levels as for the 2008 final and amended to take into account the VAT reduction.

Both clubs will be allocated 25,000 tickets. Chelsea will wear their yellow strip and be situated in the west of Wembley Stadium while Everton will wear their blue kit and be located in the east stands. The game kicks off at 3pm.
