Guadalajara beat America in Mexican Clausura
Sergio Amaury Ponce scored the only as Guadalajara beat bitter rivals America 1-0 in the Mexican Clausura.
Ponce headed home Alberto Medina's cross in the 68th minute to give the Chivas their fifth win.
The result also marked a winning start at the helm for Guadalajara coach Francisco Ramirez, who succeeded Omar Arellano last week.
Guadalajara goalkeeper Luis Michel said: "We were very focused and attacked clearly. The problems last week were put behind us.
"In the derby, when you step onto the field, you put problems behind you."
Guadalajara climb to second in the Clausura's Group Two on 19 points, two above America in the same pool.
