Ajax forward Miralem Sulejmani admits he is not the player he was at Heerenveen.
Sulejmani, who moved to the Amsterdam ArenA for almost €17m in the summer, was dropped to the bench for Ajax's 7-0 thrashing of Willem II on Sunday.
The Serbian told Het Parool newspaper: "Of course I don't find it funny, but I cannot cry about it. I will try to get it out of my mind.
"I am not the player I was at Heerenveen. I need time and I will succeed, because I know I have qualities.
"That I played in Friesland in a two-striker system is not important. Good football players can play in any system. I must keep my feet on the ground and fight my way back into the team."
Sulejmani's replacement on Sunday, Dario Cvitanich, scored twice in the thumping win.
