West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami has confirmed he will be sidelined for the rest of the season with a double injury.
The Swiss international was stretchered off in last Sunday's 1-0 win over Manchester City after suffering a twisted knee and a suspected broken ankle.
Initial tests have revealed the 23-year-old did not suffer a break or fracture and, although more scans are required to determine the full extent of the injuries, Behrami already knows he will not play again this term.
"The season has gone for me," he told Switzerland's Blick magazine.
"I must now wait 48 hours until I know whether or not cruciate ligament surgery is required."
Behrami had established himself as a first-team regular under manager Gianfranco Zola and his loss will be a big blow for the Hammers.
