Boro admit FA charge after players' ref rage

Middlesbrough have admitted a charge of failing to control their players during the Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion on January 17.

The charge relates to the conduct of Boro's players towards referee Mark Halsey following Didier Digard's sending-off in the second half of Albion's 3-0 victory at The Hawthorns.

A statement on the Football Association's website read: ''Middlesbrough have today admitted a charge of failing to control their players.

''Middlesbrough have requested a personal hearing, which will be scheduled in due course.''

The charge adds to Boro manager Gareth Southgate's woes, with the club having dropped into the relegation zone following a run of 12 league games without a win.
