Toronto signs British trio to contract extensions

Rohan Ricketts has joined Carl Robinson and Danny Dichio in signing a new dealwith Major League Soccer club Toronto FC.

The former Arsenal FA Youth Cup winner, 26, joined Toronto from Barnsley lastApril after spells with Tottenham, Coventry and Wolves.

Ricketts scored four goals from midfield in 27 appearances in his maiden campaign in Toronto and his new deal will see him through to the end of the 2009 season, which will run from March through to November.

Wales international Robinson, 32, is set begin his third season in Toronto having joined the MLS side form Norwich for its inaugural campaign in 2007 and has twice won the club's player of the year award.

Dichio, 34, also signed for Toronto in early 2007 from Preston and last season scored five times in 23 games. Like Robinson he has seen his contract extended, although the club declined to state the length of either player's deal.
