Mourinho: Inter want to win Coppa Italia

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho has warned Coppa Italia holders Roma they can expect to face a strong Nerazzurri line-up in tomorrow's quarter-final first leg at the San Siro.

The encounter will mark a repeat of the competition's past four finals, with Roma having had the upper hand for the last two years.

Mourinho is desperate for Inter to get their hands back on the silverware.

''If there is anyone that likes this type of tournament that is me,'' said the Portuguese. ''I want to win the Coppa Italia. We will always play with a team that has great quality and that can honour Inter's name in this competition.''

Inter head into the match looking to bounce back from the 3-1 weekend defeat at Atalanta which saw their lead at the Serie A summit cut to three points at the halfway mark of the season.

Mourinho is set to play with Julio Cruz and Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front. Sweden striker Ibrahimovic will serve a one-match ban against Sampdoria this weekend.

Roma travel to the San Siro hoping red-hot striker Julio Baptista maintains his goalscoring form.

Baptista netted a last-minute goal to hand Roma all three points at Torino on Sunday having five days earlier hit a brace in the 2-0 triumph over Sampdoria.

In tomorrow's other quarter-final, Udinese will aim to put their Serie A troubles behind them when they host Samp.

The Friuli outfit have collected just three points in their last 10 league games - a run that has seen them drop to 13th in the standings.

Udinese are the only team left in the competition never to have lifted the Coppa Italia trophy.

Sampdoria will have to overcome the absence of striker Antonio Cassano, who is out of action with a back injury.

On Thursday, Lazio meet Torino at Rome's Stadio Olimpico. The Biancoceleste go into the encounter in buoyant mood having held Scudetto contenders Juventus to a 1-1 draw at the weekend.

The return legs will be played on February 4.

Next month, Napoli host Juventus in the remaining quarter-final.
